PREGNANCY CHECKLIST

Pregnancy can be a new topic that we don’t know much about from the very first moment! Together with our team, we thought we would help make your life easier by creating a checklist per trimester of the most important things to do, think about and sort before baby arrives!

You can even print it out or share it with other preggy mamas you know!

Here is your trimester checklist to help you stay organised and on track:

First Trimester:

  • Schedule your first prenatal visit with your healthcare provider
  • Start taking prenatal vitamins recommended by your doctor
  • Learn about pregnancy dos and don'ts, including foods to avoid, exercises to do, etc.
  • Make a list of questions to ask your doctor at your next appointment
  • Start keeping track of your symptoms, such as nausea, fatigue, etc.
  • Start researching childbirth classes and decide which one to take
  • Consider announcing your pregnancy to family and friends

Second Trimester:

  • Schedule any necessary tests, such as an ultrasound, glucose screening, etc.
  • Start shopping for maternity clothes that fit comfortably
  • Consider hiring a doula or choosing a birthing plan
  • Start researching paediatricians in your area
  • Start planning your maternity leave or discussing it with your employer
  • Sign up for a childbirth education class
  • Consider taking a hospital tour
  • Start creating a baby registry and researching baby gear

Third Trimester:

  • Attend your prenatal appointments as recommended by your doctor
  • Start preparing for labor and delivery by taking childbirth classes, practising breathing exercises, etc.
  • Start preparing for the baby's arrival by setting up the nursery, washing baby clothes, etc.
  • Pack your hospital bag with necessary items for labor and delivery
  • Finalise your birth plan and share it with your healthcare provider
  • Consider pre-registering at the hospital where you plan to give birth
  • Discuss breastfeeding or formula feeding options with your healthcare provider
  • Start preparing for your baby's first few weeks at home by setting up a feeding and sleeping schedule

Remember, every pregnancy is different, and your healthcare provider may have specific recommendations for you. Don't hesitate to ask questions and seek advice throughout your pregnancy. Good luck!
