3 THINGS YOU & YOUR BABY REALLY NEED - EXPERIENCES FROM 3 MOTHERS

Dear expectant mother,

Preparing for the arrival of a new family member can be overwhelming when faced with the seemingly endless array of baby products. In this blog post, three moms, Bekka, Carla, and Laura, share their experiences and discuss which things are truly indispensable for your baby and which items you can confidently remove from your shopping list.

3 IMPORTANT THINGS FOR YOUR BABY - BEKKA'S EXPERIENCE

I'm Bekka, and my daughter is soon turning 6 months old.

What We Really Needed:

  1. White Noise Machine: White noise has been a real lifesaver for us, especially since we live in an apartment. The gentle sound helps my daughter sleep better and allows me to make some noise without disturbing her.

  2. Portable Changing Pad: I adore my diaper backpack, but a changing pad is an absolute must! It's practical and space-saving when we're on the go, and I can comfortably change my daughter anywhere.

  3. Baby Carrier: Since my daughter took almost all her naps in the carrier, having one was one of the best decisions. Plus, it kept my hands free.

Things We Didn't Need:

Too many clothes, hair bows, a baby bouncer, and too many stuffed animals.

MY 3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS - CARLA'S EXPERIENCE

I'm Carla, a mom of two toddlers. Each child is unique, and my experience shows that the essentials can vary greatly depending on the baby.

What We Really Needed:

  1. Formula: For my first child, I needed the basics: clothes, diapers, baby food, and bottles since I couldn't breastfeed. I remember a night when I had to search for baby food at a gas station with a crying baby, so these things are essential.

  2. Baby Swing: The baby swing was incredibly helpful for keeping the baby engaged and close to me while I tended to my older child.

  3. Baby Carrier: A carrier was indispensable to meet both children's needs and to stay mobile while on the go.

Things We Didn't Need:

Baby bouncer, baby bathtub, baby toys, too many newborn diapers, and burp cloths.

MY TOP 3 THINGS FOR MY BABY - LAURA SHARES HER EXPERIENCES

I'm Laura, a mom to a 4-year-old daughter.

What We Really Needed:

  1. Strong Support During Postpartum: The motto 'Time instead of Stuff' was valuable for me. Especially during the postpartum period, I was grateful for my partner, friends who brought food, and my mother-in-law, who helped with laundry.

  2. Pacifier: Despite exclusively breastfeeding, the pacifier made our lives easier. It helped soothe our daughter before nursing or allowed her to fall asleep in the carrier with her dad.

  3. Baby Carrier: It was a necessity. Since our daughter only fell asleep in close contact (which is completely normal!!) and we couldn't and didn't want to hold her on us all day, the carrier was indispensable.

What We Didn't Need:

Baby shampoo, cherry stone pillows, crib, baby bouncer.

Remember, every family and every baby is different. Our experiences can serve as guidance, but it's essential to consider your own needs and preferences. The baby gear should support you in raising your baby happily and healthily.

All the best and lots of joy with your little miracle!

Yours sincerely, Bekka, Carla, and Laura
