The Power of Mom Communities
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and while not all of us are fortunate enough to have that village by our side 24/7, we at Rookie believe in the power of mom communities. We understand that every Rookie mama we've encountered is an incredible human being, and we saw this as the perfect opportunity to connect all of you together. That's why we've established WhatsApp groups in cities across Germany, offering a safe and non-judgmental space for moms to share their love, struggles, and stories surrounding motherhood.
So far, we've had the pleasure of hosting four in-person Mommy meet-ups in Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, and Stuttgart. These meet up’s have allowed us to sit down, enjoy some coffee, and share laughter and tears with beautiful Rookie Mamas. The authenticity and realness of motherhood were on full display, reminding us that we are never alone in this journey.
Carla and Bianca, the two moms at Rookie, each have two small children. Until recently, they felt incredibly isolated in their parenting journeys, receiving minimal support from their families. From sleepless nights to sickness and identity crises as women turning into mom’s, they believed they were the only ones facing these challenges. However, everything changed when they started sharing their daily thoughts, struggles, and stresses with one another. The daily support and check-ins became a lifeline, which is why we are so passionate about creating safe spaces and connections with other moms. These connections could lead to lifelong friendships, whether it's with a mom living just around the corner or someone with whom you share a deep bond.
At these mommy meet-ups, we love providing carrier consultations, hearing product feedback, and discussing the hardships of motherhood. From the struggles of conceiving to the complexities of breastfeeding, we've either gone through or heard it all. Now, we are excited to expand our reach and organise mommy meet-ups across Germany, where dads are welcome to join if they wish. Who knows, perhaps we should even plan a dad meet-up in the near future?
