We are celebrating World Breastfeeding Week!

"I AM ENOUGH"

As moms we are always under pressure by society to do everything, and to do it “right”.

Breastfeeding especially, is a journey that can be so challenging and emotional. Despite the million other things new moms go through.

We are judged for deciding not to breastfeed, for stopping too soon or for giving up.  If we choose to breastfeed, we are still inundated with judgement of how often we feed, what we eat, how we act, where we feed, what we wear, how long we breastfeed for. It’s too long, or too short. Or our milk is not nutritious enough. Or our babies are picking up too much weight or not enough.

Each and every one of you reading this, are worthy and doing an amazing job. YOU ARE ENOUGH. You are doing the best you can and that is all that’s important. It does not matter what you went through or what led to your decisions.

Today we celebrate every single mom out there and whatever YOUR breastfeeding journey looked like! The ones that did, the ones that didn’t, the ones that are & the ones that couldn’t. Because every single one of you have a story.

For those fortunate enough to fully embrace this beautiful and intimate journey to its fullest potential, thank you. Thank you for sharing such a special part of your daily life to nourish and comfort your little angel. We know how overwhelming it can be at times and we just want to remind you it’s okay to have those bad days too and you are never alone. We also know how incredibly special this journey is and you should be so proud of how far you have come - and that’s why we want to celebrate you. Those cute boobie smiles. The way they look into your eyes after a melt down - thanking you for your comfort and love. It’s pure magic!

Through the sleepless nights, the tears, the mastitis, the engorged breasts, the cracked nipples and judgements.

Through the doubt, confusion & stress of not having enough or stopping too soon.

Through cluster feeds, munchies & fomo - because this journey too can seem lonely at times.

To the mom’s that couldn’t - we sympathise with you.

To the mom’s that chose not to - we respect and stand by you.

To the mom’s that are pushing through - we salute and congratulate you.

To all our warriors and super mama’s, say it with us: “I AM ENOUGH!”

P.S.: Did you know that you can also breastfeed in your ROOKIE baby carrier? Simply loosen the straps a bit so that your baby can sit comfortably and reach your breast. This is how ROOKIE mama Carla is doing is with her little one:
